3/2 마13:44-46(감추인 보화와 진주)
하나님의 은혜중에 거져 받는 은혜가 있고 댓가를 지불하는 은혜가있다.
1. 거져받는 은혜
애굽은 세상나라, 죄가 왕노릇 하는 사단의 나라를 상징한다. 죄의 나라에서 유월절 예배로 어린양의 피를 좌우 문설주 인방에 바르면 저주가 넘어가리라고 하셨다. 이 말씀은 세상죄를 지고가는 하나님의 어린양 되시는 예수 그리스도께서 세상에 오셔서 온 세상의 죄를 값으시기 위해 십자가의 죽으심을 말한다.
요3:16(하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 누구든지 저를 믿으면 멸망치 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이라)
내가 죄인임을 시인하고 예수 그리스도의 피로 내 죄를 씻음을 믿는 것이다. 이것은 회개하고 믿기만 하면 누구든지 거져 주시는 하나님의 은혜이다.
또한 출애굽한 이스라엘 백성들이 홍해를 만났다. 그러나 하나님은 모세를 통해 홍해를 갈라 놓으시고 마른땅으로 걸어가듯 홍해를 지나가게 하셨다. 이말씀은 물과 성령으로 세례를 의미한다. 물과 성령으로 거듭나야 하나님의 자녀(신분상)가 되는 것이다.
베드로전서 3:21 물은 예수 그리스도의 부활하심으로 말미암아 이제 너희를 구원하는 표니 곧 세례라 육체의 더러운 것을 제하여 버림이 아니요 오직 선한 양심이 하나님을 향하여 찾아가는 것이라
2. 댓가를 지불하는 은혜
회개하고 예수를 믿어 죄사함을 받은 것으로 끝난 것이 아니다.
물과 성령으로 거듭나 하나님의 자녀가 된 것으로 다 된 것은 아니다.
광야을 지나 가나안정탐, 요단강을 지나 약속의 가나안 땅까지 가야 한다. 광야에서 가나안 정복까지는 믿는 하나님의 자녀가 댓가를 지불해야 한다.
한아기가 부모에게 태어났다. 영유아기,소년기까지는 부모의 거져 주는 사랑으로 보호를 받으며 자란다. 그러나 청년이 되고 장년이 되었음에도 자기 스스로 살지못한다면 문제이다.
이와같이 댓가를 지불하는 은혜안에서 성장과 성숙해야 한다.
오늘 본문, 감추인 보화와 진주의 비유는 거져 받는 은혜가 아닌 댓가를 지불해야 하는 은혜에 대한 천국의 비유이다.
1. 2011년 4월 10일 전라북도(현 전북특별자치도) 김제시 금구면 선암리 축령마을의 한 마늘밭에서 발견된 의문의 돈 뭉치와 관련된 사건. 주민 이 씨(당시 53세, 이하 모두 사건 당시 나이)의 마늘밭에서 굴착기 기사 안세현(당시 52세)[1]이 110억 원어치의 돈뭉치를 발견하여 세간의 화제가 되었다.
경찰의 추적 결과 이 돈은 이 씨의 두 처남(48, 44)과 일당들이 2008년 1월부터 2009년 11월까지 불법 도박 사이트(스포츠토토)를 통해 벌어들인 범죄 수익이었음이 드러났다.이씨 부부는 2010년 4월 "보내준 돈으로 땅을 사서 안전하게 돈을 묻으라"는 처남의 전화를 받았고 한 달여 뒤인 5월 18일 김제에서 토지 2필지를 1억원에 샀으며 아파트에서 보관하던 돈을 비닐로 포장한 뒤 김치통·실리콘통·양은찜통 등에 나눠 담아 밀봉했다. 2010년 6월부터 2011년 3월까지 10차례에 걸쳐 이씨의 차량을 이용해 돈을 운반한 뒤 삽과 곡괭이로 흙을 파 110억원가량을 김제 땅에 묻었다. 이씨 부부는 돈을 묻은 땅에 마늘, 고추·들깨 등을 심었다. 이로 인해 땅 이름은 통칭 '마늘밭'이 되었다.
110억= 7,524,995 달러
봄이 왔는데 고사리캐러 갔다가 땅밑에 800만달러정도 금이 묻은 것을 발견했다. 남몰래 땅에서 금을 캐오면 도둑질이 될 것이다. 합법적으로 내것을 만들려면 그땅을 내돈주고 사야 할 것이다.
땅주인이 10만불 달라고 하면 그 땅을 사야 합니까? 사지 말아야 하나요? 내가 가진 돈이 10만있다고 하면? 사야 하나요? 아니요?
내돈 아깝다고 절반, 8만불만 투자하면 구입이 되나요? 안되나요?
마13:44(자기의 소유를 다 팔아 그 밭을 샀느니라)
거져 주시는 은혜로 살다가 진리를 발견했다. 진리를 따라 살려면 나의 일부분이 아닌, 절반도 아닌 전부를 드려야 보화보다 큰 진리를, 하나님의 전부를 얻을 수 있다.
주말되면 미국에 grage sale을 보는 것은 흔한 일이다.
그림은 20세기 초 캐나다 화단을 이끌었던 톰 톰슨(Thomson)의 작품이었습다. 이 그림을 손에 넣은 행운의 주인공이 지불한 댓가는 다른 그림 한점을 합쳐도 고작 100달러에 불과했습니다. 또 다른 그림 역시 ‘7인의 화가 그룹’의 일원이었던 프레드 벌리(Varley)의 진품인 것으로 판명됐습니다. 이 두 그림이 16일 미술 경매장을 향했습니다. 결과는? 톰 톰슨의 그림은 11만달러에 낙찰됐습니다. 화가의 명성을 감안하면 그리 높은 가격이 아닙니다. 전문가들의 예상가는 15만달러에서 25만달러였습니다. 벌리의 작품은 6500달러에 낙찰됐습니다.
grage sale을 한 주인은 그림의 가치를 알지 못하여 헐값으로 팔았다. 물건을 구입한 사람은 그 그림의 가치를 알고 지갑에 있던 100불을 전부 주고 그림을 구입했다. 전부 주어도 얻게 되는 댓가의 결과는 헤아릴수 없는 큰 것이다.
46절(극히 값진 진주 하나를 만나매 가서 자기의 소유를 다 팔아 그 진주를 샀느니라)
두 개의 보화와 진주의 비유는 자기의 전부를 다 팔았다는 것이다.
신앙의 성장과 성숙은 저절로 얻어지는 것은 아니다.
하나님의 나라 즉 천국은 꽁짜가 아니다. 아무나 들어가는 것은 아니다. 댓가를 지불해야 한다.
일부분이 아니다. 절반도 아니다. 나의 전부를 드려야 한다.
마22:37(예수께서 가라사대 네 마음을 다하고 목숨을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하라 하셨으니 38이것이 크고 첫째 되는 계명이요)
롬6:13, "또한 너희 지체를 불의의 병기로 죄에게 드리지 말고 오직 너희 자신을 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 산 자같이 하나님께 드리며 너희 지체 (your whole body)를 의의 병기로 하나님께 드리라."
마26:7(한 여자가 매우 귀한 향유 한 옥합을 가지고 나아와서 식사하시는 예수의 머리에 부으니 8제자들이 보고 분하여 가로되 무슨 의사로 이것을 허비하느뇨 9이것을 많은 값에 팔아 가난한 자들에게 줄 수 있었겠도다 하거늘 10예수께서 아시고 저희에게 이르시되 너희가 어찌하여 이 여자를 괴롭게 하느냐 저가 내게 좋은 일을 하였느니라)
순전한 나드 한근= 1년 월급(5만불) 정도되는 가치
이여인의 자기의 전부를 예수님께 드렸다. 그러나 주님으로부터 인정과 칭찬을 얻게 되었다. 5만불의 가치에서 몇천배와 몇 만배의 은혜와 축복을 얻게 되었다.
감추인 보화와 진주의 비유를 통해 하나님의 나라의 복과 은혜를 누리자.
Matthew 13:44-46 (The Hidden Treasure and the Pearl)
There is grace that is freely given by God, and there is grace that requires a price to be paid.
1. Grace That Is Freely Given
Egypt symbolizes the worldly kingdom, the kingdom of Satan where sin reigns. In the land of sin, the Passover sacrifice required the blood of the lamb to be placed on the doorposts and lintels, so that the curse would pass over. This foreshadows Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, coming to pay for the sins of all mankind through His death on the cross.
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
One must acknowledge their sinfulness and believe that their sins are washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ. This is the grace of God given freely to anyone who repents and believes.
Furthermore, when the Israelites who had left Egypt encountered the Red Sea, God parted the waters through Moses, allowing them to walk on dry land. This event symbolizes baptism by water and the Holy Spirit. Only those who are born again of water and the Spirit can become children of God.
1 Peter 3:21 - "There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ."
2. Grace That Requires a Price
Receiving the forgiveness of sins by repenting and believing in Jesus is not the end. Being born again of water and the Spirit and becoming a child of God is not the final goal. One must journey through the wilderness, explore the promised land, cross the Jordan River, and enter Canaan. The process from the wilderness to the conquest of Canaan requires the believer to pay a price.
A baby is protected and nurtured by the parents' unconditional love throughout infancy and childhood. However, if that child remains dependent and unable to live independently even into adulthood, it becomes a problem. Likewise, one must grow and mature in grace that requires a price.
The parables of the hidden treasure and the pearl in today’s scripture are not about freely given grace but about grace that requires a price.
A True Story: A Hidden Treasure
On April 10, 2011, a man in Seonam-ri, Gimje-si, North Jeolla Province, South Korea, discovered bundles of cash buried in a garlic field—totaling approximately 11 billion KRW (around 7.5 million USD). Investigations revealed that this money was criminal proceeds from illegal gambling operations. The person who originally buried the money did so to keep it hidden.
Now, imagine finding a buried treasure worth 8 million USD while foraging in the mountains. Secretly taking the gold would be stealing. The only legal way to own it would be to buy the land where the treasure is buried. If the landowner asks for 100,000 USD, should you buy it? If you only have 100,000 USD, should you still purchase it? Can you acquire it by offering only 80,000 USD?
Matthew 13:44 - "He went and sold all that he had and bought that field."
A person living by freely given grace discovers the truth. To follow the truth, they must give not just a part, not half, but their entire life to obtain something greater—the full richness of God's truth.
The Story of a Valuable Painting
In the United States, it is common to visit garage sales on weekends. At one such sale, someone purchased a painting for just 100 USD. Later, it was discovered that the painting was an authentic work by Tom Thomson, a renowned early 20th-century Canadian artist. When the painting was auctioned, it sold for 110,000 USD. The seller had unknowingly let go of a treasure at a fraction of its value, while the buyer, recognizing its worth, gave up a small sum to obtain something far greater.
Matthew 13:46 - "When he found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it."
Both the parable of the hidden treasure and the parable of the pearl emphasize that the individual sold everything to obtain them.
Spiritual growth and maturity do not come automatically. The kingdom of God—heaven—is not free. Not just anyone can enter. A price must be paid. Not just a portion, not half, but our entire being must be offered to God.
Matthew 22:37-38 - "Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment."
Romans 6:13 - "And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God."
The Story of the Alabaster Jar
Matthew 26:7-10 - "A woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table. But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, ‘Why this waste? For this fragrant oil might have been sold for much and given to the poor.’ But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, ‘Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me.’"
The value of this alabaster jar of pure nard was equivalent to one year’s wages (approximately 50,000 USD today). The woman gave her everything to Jesus, and in return, she received recognition and praise from Him. The blessings and grace she gained were worth thousands and even millions of times more than what she had given.
Through the parables of the hidden treasure and the pearl, let us embrace the blessings and grace of the kingdom of God.
