양의 8가지 특징
양은 시력이 나쁘다. 양은 시력이 나쁩니다.
잘 속는다. ...
잘 넘어진다. ...
넘어지면 못 일어난다. ...
이기적이고 멋 대로이다. ...
방향 감각이 없다. ...
반드시 왔던 길로 다시 돌아온다. ...
죽을 때가 되면 온순해진다.
시편23편은 잘 아는 말씀이다.
본문의 말씀을 2가지로 구분해서 말씀준비했다.
1. 인도하시는 하나님
푸른초장에 누이시고 쉴만한 물가로 인도하시는도다.
사람이 편히 눕고 평안하게 살려고 하면 의식주의 문제가 해결되어야 한다.
사람이나 동물도 마찬가지처럼 기본생활권인 의식주의 문제다.
금강산도 식구경 이란 말처럼 배가 불러야 아름다운 산도 눈에 들어온다는 말이다.
짐승도 배가 부르고 마실물도 흡족히 먹어야 편안하게 쉴 수 있다. 먹을 것 먹지못하고 마시지 못하면 누워있지만 병든몸처럼 힘을 잃어 버릴 것이다.
신앙생활의 영적 의식주는 무엇인가?
요한복음 14:27 -평안을 너희에게 끼치노니 곧 나의 평안을 너희에게 주노라 내가 너희에게 주는 것은 세상이 주는 것 같지 아니하니라 너희는 마음에 근심도 말고 두려워하지도 말라
영적의식주는 하나님의 말씀과 기도이다.
마태복음 4:4 -예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 기록되었으되 사람이 떡으로만 살것이 아니요 하나님의 입으로 나오는 모든 말씀으로 살 것이라 하였느니라
하나님의 사람들의 평안,기쁨,행복은 하나님의 말씀을 통하여 나타난다.
영의 사람의 힘은 마음의 평안, 기쁨, 행복이다. 열매는 말씀으로 이루어진다.
말씀의 열매를 알지 못하면 하나님과 관계없는 사람이다.
야고보서 4:3-4 너희가 얻지 못함은 구하지 아니함이요 구하여도 받지 못함은 정욕으로 쓰려고 잘못 구함이니라
기도는 영의 사람의 생수와 같은 것이다. 물이 없으면 살수 없듯이 기도하지 않으면 영적 갈증이 있게된다.
기도는 묻는 것이다.
마7:7(구하라 주실것이요, 찾으라 찾을 것이요 두드리라 그리하면 열릴것이니)
2. 내영혼을 소생시키시고 자기 이름을 위하여 의의 길로 인도하시는 도다.
하나님의 말씀과 기도로 내 영혼이 소생된다. 살아난다, 성장, 열매를 맺는다.
의의 길? 말씀과 기도로 신앙의 5단계로 이르게 된다.(중생,성장,열매,성숙,복과권세)
3. 나와 함께 하심, 임마누엘의 하나님
막대기와 지팡이로 나를 안위하시나이다.(막대기는 경계/지팡이는 가르침)
베드로전서 5:8-11근신하라 깨어라 너희 대적 마귀가 우는 사자 같이 두루 다니며 삼킬 자를 찾나니 너희는 믿음을 굳게 하여 저를 대적하라
음침한 사망의 골짜기 - 한번 잘못 실수하면 우는 사자의 먹이감이 될 수 있는 세상이다.
양떼들의 주변에 늑대나 사자의 습격을 받는다. 양들은 시력도 나쁘고 움직임도 빠르지 못해 짐승들의 먹이감에 노출되어 있다.
그러나 목자가 나타나 막대기를 던지고 막대기로 맞서 싸워 양떼들을 보호해야 한다. 이러한 용도로 막대가 사용되었다. 다윗은 물매돌을 사용하였다.
지팡이는 양떼들이 길을 벗어나 멀리 떠나 가면 다시 돌아오도록 사용했던 도구이다.
예화 1: 다윗과 사울 – 원수 앞에서도 높이신 하나님
다윗은 사울 왕에게 쫓기면서도 하나님을 신뢰했습니다. 사울은 다윗을 죽이려 했지만, 하나님께서는 오히려 다윗을 지켜 주셨고 결국 이스라엘의 왕으로 세우셨습니다.
특히, 다윗이 사울을 죽일 기회가 있었음에도 불구하고 그를 살려준 엔게디 동굴 사건(삼상 24장)은 하나님께서 원수 앞에서 다윗을 높이시는 과정이었습니다. 사울조차 다윗에게 말합니다.
"네가 나보다 의롭도다. 네가 나를 선대하였으나 나는 네게 악으로 갚았도다." (삼상 24:17)
하나님은 우리가 원수에게 보복하지 않아도 친히 역사하시고, 오히려 상을 베푸십니다.
예화 2: 요셉 – 형들이 팔았지만 하나님은 높이셨다
요셉은 형들에게 미움을 받아 노예로 팔렸지만, 하나님께서는 그를 애굽의 총리로 높이셨습니다.
창세기 50장 20절에서 요셉은 형들에게 이렇게 말합니다.
"당신들은 나를 해하려 하였으나 하나님은 그것을 선으로 바꾸사 오늘과 같이 많은 백성의 생명을 구원하게 하시려 하셨나니."
형들은 요셉을 해치려 했지만, 하나님은 그 상황을 오히려 요셉을 위한 상으로 바꾸셨습니다.
Psalm 23:1-6 (God, My Shepherd)
The Eight Characteristics of Sheep
- Sheep have poor eyesight.
- They are easily deceived.
- They frequently fall.
- Once fallen, they cannot get up on their own.
- They are selfish and stubborn.
- They lack a sense of direction.
- They tend to return to the same path they came from.
- As they near death, they become gentle.
Psalm 23 is a well-known passage.
The message is prepared in two parts based on the passage.
1. The God Who Guides
"He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters."
For people to live in comfort and peace, their basic needs—food, clothing, and shelter—must be met. This is true for both humans and animals.
As the saying goes, "A full stomach makes even the most beautiful scenery enjoyable." Similarly, even animals can only rest when they have eaten well and had enough to drink. If they lack food and water, they may lie down, but their bodies will be weak and sickly.
What is the spiritual food, clothing, and shelter in our faith?
- John 14:27 – "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
- Matthew 4:4 – "Jesus answered, 'It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
The peace, joy, and happiness of God’s people come through His Word.
A spiritual person’s strength is derived from inner peace, joy, and happiness, and these fruits come from God's Word.
If one does not bear the fruit of the Word, they are disconnected from God.
- James 4:3-4 – "You do not receive because you do not ask. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend it on your pleasures."
Prayer is like the living water for a spiritual person.
Just as we cannot live without water, we experience spiritual thirst when we do not pray.
Prayer is about asking:
- Matthew 7:7 – "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."
2. He Restores My Soul and Leads Me in Paths of Righteousness
Through God’s Word and prayer, our souls are restored, revived, and bear fruit.
What is the path of righteousness?
Through the Word and prayer, we progress through five stages of faith:
- Rebirth
- Growth
- Bearing fruit
- Maturity
- Blessings and authority
3. God with Us – Emmanuel
"Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me."

The rod represents protection and discipline.

The staff represents guidance and correction.

1 Peter 5:8-11 – "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith."
The Valley of the Shadow of Death
In life, one wrong step can make us prey to the enemy.
Sheep are slow and have poor eyesight, making them vulnerable to predators like wolves and lions. However, a shepherd protects his flock by using his rod to fight off threats.
David, for example, used a sling and stones to defend himself.
The shepherd’s staff is used to bring back sheep that have strayed from the path.
Example 1: David and Saul – God Exalted David Before His Enemy
David trusted God even while being pursued by King Saul.
Although Saul wanted to kill him, God protected David and eventually made him king of Israel.
One significant moment was in the Cave of En Gedi (1 Samuel 24).
David had the chance to kill Saul but spared his life, showing his trust in God’s justice.
Even Saul admitted:
"You are more righteous than I. You have treated me well, but I have treated you badly." (1 Samuel 24:17)
God does not require us to seek revenge; He Himself works and even prepares a feast in the presence of our enemies.
Example 2: Joseph – Sold by His Brothers, but Exalted by God
Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery, intending to harm him, but God turned it into a blessing.
- Genesis 50:20 – "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives."
Though others may seek to harm us, God can turn every situation around for His glory and our good.
