본문에 내가 곧 길이요,진리요,생명이니라 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올자가 없느니라
길? 내 아버지집에 거할 곳이 많도다. 즉 내 아버지집으로 가는 길이다.
길되신,진리되신 예수께로 따라가지 않으면 내아버지집으로 갈 수 없다.
따라가지 않으면 세상에 낙오자로 남겨지게 될것이고 결국 심판과 형벌뿐이다.
한사람 한사람이 세상에 탄생한 것은 수억의 경쟁률을 뚫고 성공한 것이다.
길과 진리되신 예수로 말미암는 다는 의미는 믿는다/내안에 거하라/따라가다 이다.
1896년에 발간된 이래 3천만부가 팔렸고 지금도 여전히 베스트셀러로 통하는 책이 있다. 찰스 쉘돈이 지은 < 예수라면 어떻게 할 것인가? >란 제목의 책이다. 원명이 "In His Steps"
1990년대 한국에서 신학교 다닐 때 이 서적이 돌풍을 일으켰다.
예수라면 어떻게 할것인가?
하루를 시작할 때? 친구와 만날 때? 예배와 봉사할 때?
교회에 다니기만하면 예수 믿는다/직분받고 교회 잘 섬기면 예수 안에 거한다고 생각하는 교인들이 있다. 맞는 말이지만 다 맞는 말도 아니다.
길은 진리의 길이다. 하나님의 말씀의 길이다. 진리인 하나님의 말씀에는 길이있다.
사도바울은 고전10장에서 이스라엘 백성들이 애굽에서 출애굽하고 광야를 지나 약속의 땅으로 가는 길이 성도들의 모델이 되었고 거울이 되었다 라고 말씀하고 하고 있다.
믿음의 조상 아브라함에게 하나님께서
창12:1(1여호와께서 아브람에게 이르시되 너는 너의 본토 친척 아비 집을 떠나 내가 네게 지시할 땅으로 가라 2내가 너로 큰 민족을 이루고 네게 복을 주어 네 이름을 창대케 하리니 너는 복의 근원이 될찌라)
지시할 땅은 약속의 가나안이다.
출3:8(8내가 내려와서 그들을 애굽인의 손에서 건져내고 그들을 그 땅에서 인도하여 아름답고 광대한 땅, 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅 곧 가나안 족속, 헷 족속, 아모리 족속, 브리스 족속, 히위 족속, 여부스 족속의 지방에 이르려 하노라)
약속의 가나안땅은 천국의 상징, 내 아버지의 집의 의미도 있지만 하나님의 복이요, 하나님의 권세이다. 즉 하나님의 복과 권세를 가지고 소유해야 예수그리스도안에 거하는 것이요 온전하게 믿는 것이다.
요1:12(영접하는자 곧 그이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니 이는 혈통으로나 육정으로 나지아니하고 하나님께로 난 자들이니라)
하나님의 복과 권세를 누리기 위해서는
첫째, 애굽에서 나와야 한다. 출애굽해야 한다.
애굽은 바로왕이 이스라엘 백성들을 노예와 종으로 다스렸던 곳이다.
사단이 왕노릇하는 죄와 사망의 노예와 종으로 세상인 것이다.
출애굽하는 길은 유월절 어린양을 번제드리듯 세상죄를 지고가시는 예수께서 십자가에서 어린양처럼 몸이 찢기고 피를 흘리는 죽음으로 대속하신 것이다.
그러므로 나를 위해 십자가에서 죽으심을 믿는 자에게 죄와사망에서 죄의 나라에서 해방과 자유함을 주신다.
둘째, 출애굽한 이스라엘 백성들이 첫째 마주한 것은 홍해였다.
벧전3:21(물은 예수그리스도의 부활하심으로 말미암아 너희를 구원하는 표니 곧 세례라 육체의 더러운 것을 제하여 버림이 아니요 오직 선한 양심이 하나님을 향해 찾아가는 것이라)
곧 물과 성령으로 거듭나지 아니하면 하나님 나라에 들어가지 못하리라.요3:3)
셋째, 홍해를 건너간 이스라엘 백성들이 광야의 생활을 했다.
신8:2(2네 하나님 여호와께서 이 사십년 동안에 너로 광야의 길을 걷게 하신 것을 기억하라 이는 너를 낮추시며 너를 시험하사 네 마음이 어떠한지 그 명령을 지키는지 아니 지키는지 알려하심이라 3너를 낮추시며 너로 주리게 하시며 또 너도 알지 못하며 네 열조도 알지 못하던 만나를 네게 먹이신 것은 사람이 떡으로만 사는 것이 아니요 여호와의 입에서 나오는 모든 말씀으로 사는 줄을 너로 알게하려 하심이니라)
신앙의 성장은 마음과 생각의 성장이다. 얼마나 네 마음의 생각이 높은지, 깊은지, 넓은지 길은지에 대한 성장이다.
마음과 생각이 넓고,높고,깊고,길이를 아는 것은 변하지 않는 것이다. 좌로나우로나 치우치지 않는 것이다. 한번 정한 마음은 달라지지 않는 것이다.
다니엘과 다니엘의 3친구 사드락 메삭 아벳느고와 같이 사자의 밥이나 용광로의 불 가운데의 죽음앞에서도 하나님을 향한 마음과 생각을 저버리지 않는 것이다.
넷째, 가나안의 들어가기전 가나안 정탐의 일이다.
가나안정탐은 같은 시각에 한 장소를 정탐했어도 결과는 달랐다.
왜 갈렙과 여호수아와 나머지 10지파의 대표들의 생각과 마음이 달랐는가?
그결과는 불신이다. 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 깨닫았어도 믿느냐와 믿지 못했느냐의 대한 것이다.
나머지 10지파 대표들은 가나안에 정탐후 거기에서 아낙자손을 보았고 우리가 보기에도 고목나무에 메뚜기처럼 나약한 존재로 여기고 가나안에 들어가서 죽는것보다 차라리 애굽에서 종살이 하는 것이 낫다고 여기고 애굽으로 돌아가지 라고 모세와 하나님을 대적하고 백성들의 마음을 절망과 좌절케 한 동요자들이다.
그러나 여호수아와 갈렙의 보고는 달랐다.
상황과 현실은 맞지만 그러나 하나님이 우리에게 허락하신 곳이며 그곳은 우리의 밥이다.
민14:9(오직 여호와를 거역하지 말라 또 그 땅 백성을 두려워하지 말라 그들은 우리 밥이라 그들의 보호자는 그들에게서 떠났고 여호와는 우리와 함께 하시느니라 그들을 두려워 말라 하나)
다섯째, 요단강이다. 요단강은 홍해와 같은 강이지만 의미는 다르다.
요단강은 진정한 성령의 충만이 무엇인가를 가르쳐주고 있다.
눈에도 보이는 것 없어도 손에는 잡히는 것 없어도 하나님의 말씀을 붙잡고 몸과 목숨을 거는 것이다.
여섯째 가나안 정복이다.
하나님의 복과 권세를 누리는 것이다.
길과 진리되신 예수를 따라가고 믿는 것은 그리 쉬운 것이 아니다.
마7:13좁은 문으로 들어가라 멸망으로 인도하는 문은 크고 그 길이 넓어 그리로 들어가는 자가 많고 14생명으로 인도하는 문은 좁고 길이 협착하여 찾는 이가 적음이니라
(결론)신앙의 5단계의 설교는 2년동안 여러차례 반복해서 말씀드렸다.
저는 신앙의 5단계의 설교를 지난 19년동안 하고 있다.
성도들의 생각은 어떻게 생각하나요? 길과 진리가 무엇인지 확신하나요?
이렇게 듣고도 알지못하고 깨닫지 못한다면 큰일입니다.
이제 확신을 갖고 신앙의 5단계의 길을 따라 진리를 따라 갑시다.
12/29 (John 14:4-9) Jesus the Truth
Thank you to those who have dedicated themselves to serving meals (birthdays, wedding anniversaries, etc.) and as pulpit flowers throughout the year.
Duality in all things
Light and darkness/truth and falsehood/good and evil
In the text, it says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Way? There are many dwelling places in my Father’s house. In other words, it is the way to my Father’s house.
If you do not follow Jesus, the way and the truth, you cannot go to my Father’s house.
If you do not follow, you will be left behind in the world and will eventually face only judgment and punishment.
Each person born into the world succeeded after beating hundreds of millions of competition rates.
The meaning of through Jesus, the way and the truth, is to believe/dwell in me/follow. There is a book that has sold 30 million copies since its publication in 1896 and is still a bestseller today. It is a book titled “What Would Jesus Do?” by Charles Sheldon. The original title is “In His Steps.”
In the 1990s, when I was attending seminary in Korea, this book caused a sensation.
What Would Jesus Do?
When you start your day? When you meet a friend? When you worship and serve?
There are churchgoers who think that if they just go to church, they believe in Jesus/if they receive a position and serve the church well, they live in Jesus. That is true, but it is not always true.
The way is the way of truth. It is the way of God’s word. There is a way in God’s word, which is truth.
In 1 Corinthians 10, the Apostle Paul says that the way the Israelites went from Egypt to the Promised Land through the wilderness became a model and a mirror for the saints.
To Abraham, the father of faith, God said,
Genesis 12:1 (1Now the LORD said to Abram, 'Get out of your country, from your kindred and from your father's house, to the land that I will show you. 2I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great; so you will be a blessing.')
The land that He will show you is the promised Canaan.
Exodus 3:8 (8I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.')
The promised land of Canaan symbolizes heaven and the meaning of my father's house, but it is also God's blessing and God's authority. In other words, possessing God's blessing and authority is to dwell in Jesus Christ and believe completely.
John 1:12 (To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the power to become children of God; who were born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh, but of God.)
In order to enjoy the blessings and power of God,
First, we must come out of Egypt. We must go through the Exodus.
Egypt was the place where Pharaoh ruled the Israelites as slaves and servants.
It was the world of sin and death, ruled by Satan.
The way to go through the Exodus was through Jesus, who took upon himself the sins of the world like the Passover lamb, and died on the cross, torn like a lamb and bleeding.
Therefore, to those who believe in his death on the cross for me, he gives liberation and freedom from sin and death and the kingdom of sin.
Second, the first thing the Israelites who went through the Exodus encountered was the Red Sea. 1 Peter 3:21 (Baptism, which is a symbol of your salvation through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the appeal to God for a good conscience)
That is, unless you are born again of water and the Spirit, you will not enter the kingdom of God. John 3:3)
Third, the Israelites who crossed the Red Sea lived in the wilderness.
Deuteronomy 8:2 (2Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. 3He humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.)
The growth of faith is the growth of the heart and mind. It is the growth of how high, deep, wide, and long the thoughts of your heart are. The mind and thoughts that are broad, high, deep, and know the length are unchanging. They do not deviate to the left or the right. Once a mind is set, it does not change.
Like Daniel and his three friends Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, they do not abandon their minds and thoughts toward God even in the face of lions’ food or death in the fire of the furnace.
Fourth, the story of the Canaan exploration before entering Canaan.
Even though the Canaan explorations were conducted at the same time and place, the results were different.
Why were the thoughts and minds of Caleb, Joshua, and the representatives of the remaining ten tribes different?
The result is disbelief. It is about whether or not you believed even after hearing and understanding the word of God. The remaining representatives of the ten tribes spied out Canaan and saw the descendants of Anak there, and they considered them weak like grasshoppers on an old tree, and they thought it would be better to be slaves in Egypt than to go to Canaan and die, so they opposed Moses and God and made the people despair and frustrated.
However, the report of Joshua and Caleb was different.
The situation and reality are correct, but it is a place that God has allowed us and it is our food.
Num 14:9 (Only do not rebel against the Lord. Do not fear the people of the land, for they are our food. Their protection has been removed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.)
Fifth, the Jordan River. The Jordan River is a river like the Red Sea, but its meaning is different.
The Jordan River teaches us what true fullness of the Holy Spirit is.
Even if there is nothing visible to the eyes or tangible to the hands, it is holding on to the word of God and risking one’s body and life.
Sixth, the conquest of Canaan. It is to enjoy the blessings and power of God.
Following and believing in Jesus, the way and the truth, is not so easy.
Mt 7:13Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14But narrow is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and few find it.
(Conclusion) I have repeatedly spoken about the sermon on the 5 stages of faith for 2 years.
I have been preaching the sermon on the 5 stages of faith for the past 19 years.
What do the saints think? Are you sure what the way and the truth are?
If you hear this and still do not know and realize it, it is a big problem.
Now, let us follow the truth along the 5 stages of faith with confidence.
